Isuzu Dmax Suspension

Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with the dmax and the suspension recall on the back? Mines a 2018 model.

It had a knocking noise for around 8 weeks now, went in for the suspension recall and came back out still knocking, but I needed the truck so headed home and booked it in again.

It’s currently in the garage again to be looked at, and they’re telling me that it’s the bump stop on the rear catching the chassis leg, and that they don’t have a fix for it and are waiting on Isuzu in Japan for an answer on a resolution?! They’re telling me they’ve been waiting 5 weeks for an answer on another customer with the same issue, which doesn’t fill me with confidence. And that the truck is perfectly safe to drive etc etc. Personally I don’t think they know what’s wrong with it and they are just fobbing me off, although having been under it a few times myself I can’t see what the problem is either.

Generally having a nightmare with the dealership and their attitude towards after sales and helping the customer. Anyhow, issues with the garage and their lack of customer service aside, has anyone experienced anything similar with their truck?

Why not temporarily remove the bumpstops and take it for a drive to see if it stops?

Alternatively, if they are catching, there will be witness marks either on the chassis or on the rubber stops. See if you can find anything?

Depending upon how they are fixed, an option is to elongate/move the holes so you can adjust them slightly out of line of the fouling point.

I have had the recall done, it also includes a new hand brake cable as the height is increased marginally meaning longer cable is required. No knock before or after from anywhere. The odd squeak but that's it.

Can’t remove them, they’re attached to the u bolts that hold the leaf on.

There is witness marks, but there is nothing in the truck at the moment and it should have plenty of clearance with a spare 1ton capacity yet to go in?
