Italian medical record

Hello everyone,

I’m speaking to all Italian with an FAC, if any. Does anyone have any idea how to transfer medical records from one country to another? I’m from Italy, and it’s incredibly hard and frustrating because we’re a very slow country in terms of technology. In Italy, we don’t have any medical records. You simply speak to your doctor, and that’s it. Only recently have we implemented electronic medical registers, but of course, I don’t have one since I’ve been living in the UK for the past 10 years.

Thanks you.

Can you get the medical proforma form signed by an English-speaking Italian doctor?

The problem is that I have only 10 years worth of medical records here in the UK
This should be more than enough I think. My FAC was granted with no medical records as I have never been to any hospital in the UK back then but a lot has changed since then. On renewal I think it was about 2 years ago, I got medical proforma signed by my private doctor abroad where I was born and lived for half of my life, in case it’s asked by the police but FEO had never asked for it.

for what is my understanding, for first time grant I will need my full medical history since birth, which is insane, and from November 2026 is going to be the same for renewals as well. I really hope I’m wrong about this.

Fundamentally what the Police are concerned about is whether you have a history of criminality or serious mental conditions that limit your ability to control your emotions and actions.

The Firearms Act precludes someone with a sentence of less than 3 years from holding and using firearms for a period of five years after the sentence has been completed, more than 3 years then precluded for life.

Mental illness or episodes is not a preclusion per se. Very much depends on what it is and how it is managed and history post the event.
