Jays - rise in numbers?

Slow but steady increase in Jay numbers over the last five years here in Lancaster area.

I thought Jays were off the quarry list, but after a bit of digging around I find I am wrong and realise that you must be using GL40 to conserve (woodland) birds of conservation concern - (assuming you are in England) - congratulations on your service to the countryside and for wading through the paperwork to do this legally.
 
Definitely a lot more Jay's and raven's about.
Where I live never seen a raven until last year and this year seen five together so definitely on the increase usually hear them before you see them.
Bloody ravens! Bloody things are everywhere north staffs. In October 50 of the bastid things swamped a chicken unit to teach the young how to kill a chicken!
