Your vote is worth the same value as any other citizen Carl, never forget that. They are operating within their own frame of reference. It doesn't really work to overlay a UK paradigm.
What I find particularly interesting is that ordinary smart Republicans (or at least the ones I know), who in more sane times would grumpily tolerate the Democrats taking their turn in the oval office, are utterly horrified by the Biden/Harris show. These are people I like and respect: they are not loons.
What I can't yet work out is whether these normal blokes have somehow been radicalised by Trumpism (which would surprise me), or whether there really is something 'un-American' about the new administration. Either way, I do think the nuances of America's current struggle with political and social division are passing well over the heads of us Brits.
Name someone without a bias, that’s how opinions are developed, in your opinion mine is an ugly bias inferring yours is a handsome bias interesting thought patternAaaand your bias finally rears it's ugly head!

Well, pardon me. I guess your bias towards Americans is the "pretty" kind of bigotry. My mistake.Name someone without a bias, that’s how opinions are developed, in your opinion mine is an ugly bias inferring yours is a handsome bias interesting thought pattern
Just been watching Joe biden speech he absolutely scares the **** out of me and we worry about borris
In the main I agree, however FDR hid polio from the public with help from his staff. Not that Biden is half of FDR. Not that I agree with many of the things FDR did. At least for his first term and most if not all the second FDR had command of his mind. It seems obvious that by the third term FDR was in failing health and tired. My point being that those around Biden must be aware of his condition and will help conceal it.And getting back to the original OP that biden speech scare you. The fact that he hasn't had a solo press conference for more than 53 days is a worry. Either he doesn't feel confident to explain what he's doing or his health is that bad he's not up to it.
However I respect that the people have voted and they will now have him until the next election. Will he be an ineffectual leader, I don't know and time will tell but if he doesn't get up on the podium soon even his minders are going to get worried.
The polarisation in the news media is extremely troubling , on both ends of the spectrum . It's even made it's way into Canadian broadcasting , both sides screaming at each other and neither listening to the vast " middle ". Speaking for myself , I have voted for all major parties here at one time or another , I have certain beliefs that would be taken by some as Socialist , others would seem quite Conservative . Unfortunately , there aren't any parties that reflect those beliefs , and I'm not alone . Ricky Gervais summed it up in one of his interviews on PC correctness not long ago . He pointed out that he's pro choice , supports LGBTQ rights and believes in a secular society , but if he mentions free speech , he'll get a thousand Tweets calling him a Nazi , our current political environment reflects this . In an increasingly intolerant world , people will be forced to pick a side , history is full of examples of this . The most recent , and costly , occurred when the Wiemar republic failed . Democracy failed , blame can be laid at the feet of all involved . Their choice came down to Fascism or National Socialism , hopefully we have enough wisdom and empathy left in us to stop it from happening again .From 1949 until 1987, all US broadcasters operated under the "Fairness Doctrine" which required them to both present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced.
The rise of partisan broadcasting such as Fox News and the resulting polarisation of society and the "culture wars" stem directly from the decision to get rid of the Fairness Doctrine.
Cheers

You’re excused but my point remains the same Communism and Socialism are seen as one and the same by the majority of US voters. Compared to most of Europe you don’t have any mainstream “ Left Wing” parties, the choice is between the very right wing or at the other extreme the right of centre as we would describe it over hereWell, pardon me. So the election when Trump was elected, there was No crooked Votes for Trump ? All the crooked Votes go to the Democrats.Refusing to accept the results of a crooked election is not attacking the constitution. There is plenty of evidence to back up his claims but the courts have refused to hear it and most media outlets will not report it for fear of reprisal. I've just had a visit from an old friend who has told me of two relatives that voted from Michigan in the last election. One passed away seven years ago and the other three years. Hmmmm.

Who’s BidenCan we just stay on topic about Biden without complaining about Trump?
Sniffing hair of very young females, whats that all about? I'm sure somebody can explain it but just seems a bit creepy to me.
Who’s Biden
You remember that. Unfortunately Biden doesn't most of the time.I remember who Biden is now, the guy who won, that’s why they call him President Biden
