I like it because it's a levergun, I get leverguns but I'd want walnut, without that cheek nonsense!
If it encourages levergun use in the UK then so be it but I'll believe it when I see it!
Look forward to your reportI would totally agree about the stock, I'm a walnut lover myself, especially on a lever gun. I'll be testing for reliability, accuracy and groupings as always however I just wanted input from others like yourself on first thoughts or if anybody has used one. Thank you for the input.
Certainly a different look for a lever gun. That's one real ugly rifle.
There may be one or two strange persons in the U.K. who would like to own something different just for the sake of being different, but otherwise I wouldn't think there would be much of a market for such a thing over here. Probably well built being a Pedersoli, but if you were in the market for a .30-30 underlever why would you buy a rifle that has an offset mount when you can buy a Marlin?
You're an old fart like me Alan.I've nothing against lever action rifles but as others have said it needs a walnut stock. Composite stocks have their place but not on a lever, kipplauf or double rifle or s/s shotgun. Here in Scandinavia. 30-30 is a class 2 caliber with its use confined to roe deer and beaver so would never sell well.
30-30 are class 1 with Hornady leverevolutions or handloaded. With the change to 2000j/100m with copper its even easyer to get to class1.I've nothing against lever action rifles but as others have said it needs a walnut stock. Yes , they're not cheap . I'd take the High Wall to be honest .Just checked some prices on leveractions here in Sweden. Pedersoli Boarbuster 45-70 2700£ !?! , Pedersoli 1886 45-70 2100£ 2100£ beautiful rifle.
I can buy a Uberti Win High Wall in 45-70 for 1100£ and a Uberti 1894 30-30wcf for 1410£ =2510£.
And Winchester AE. Nobody ever mentions a Winchester AE.with side ejection from Henry or Marlin
