I don't have a cold smoker rigged yet but would like to do so. The Kamado is pretty versatile. I can also use it as a standard grill for steaks and burgers, or kick the heat up to as high as 700+F for baking pizza on a ceramic stone, or baking breads or other wood fired Mediterranean dishes.
Tomorrow I will try some pork brisket and later, another roasting chicken. Another day cooking. Life is good.~Muir
