KAP Suzuki Jimny Jeep

There's a heavily modified competition Jimny built by DT Engine solutions with a Chevy LS3 engine in it! Not much standard left on it though.
Reminds me of the V12 Jag engine that some lunatic put into an Austin Metro rally car back in the 1980's. It didn't win anything but did manage to kill a couple of spectators.

It isn't just the rear load bay. The standard Jimny is pretty under-powered. No issue off-road but when driving on A roads at normal speeds you have to rev the engine to the point where it's not that economical for it's size. I've noticed this on little city cars. I had to hire a car to drive from Dorset to Northumberland a while back and I picked a little Toyota Aygo, because it was cheap to hire and I thought it would sip fuel. In fact, at motorway speeds I was pushing the pedal so far into the carpet that it used more fuel than my diesel van.

Add wide fat tyres to the Jimny and I'm thinking it would have better road manners and economy with a bigger and less busy diesel engine.
Just for info - my unadulterated 18 years old 1.3 Jimny gives an overall 37mpg - not brilliant but for what she does not bad either.

Must admit never been 1 for bothering g with mpg, always worked miles per tank and price per tank or price per 100 miles.
Never think mpg means much, price per 100 miles brings home the cost of driving X miles

From memory we were only getting g 220 odd miles to a tank and about 25-30 quid per 100miles, which is the same as u get with a pick up.

The Jimmy's soon becoming a bit of a triggers broom. Only with non original parts
But always the danger if u lengthen it too much and stick a heavier engine e u defeat the point in it being light and agile

Would u be better using a dacia duster as u donor car or something similar? Will be a longer wheel base on the chassis and ur utting everything else back anyway.

Do u still get kit 4x4s?
I mind 1 lad had 1 looked like a live chil d from a g wagon and landy but got all ugly genes, imbrac??

As odd as it may seem I'm looking to sell my Jimny Landmaster. I've been offered a job overseas and I cant import it to that country as its right hand drive.

Serious offers only

Since owning it I've done about 3000 miles in 3 years and replaced the alternator, battery and fan belt so its in great nick. It comes with a tracker and dash cam for those Oh FFS moments.

Point to note its an auto transmission as its easier off road on hills. It comes with four normal road wheels and tyres as well as the flotation ones.
