Evening all,

I am laying a concrete slab for a kennel this week. I plan to paint it with RESINCOAT kennel paint. Does anyone have any experience with the product?

Many thanks

Olly

Done a block of 20 kennels in work with the same stuff. Acid etch the concrete before you paint and then if I remember rightly we had to layer it. (if it’s too thick it doesn’t set correctly)

I used a two pack epoxy designed for milking parlours. Has a bonding primer to go on the concrete, then two coats of topcoat colour. Not bad to apply, but the pot life is short and you need to get the weather right! Apply it when the weather is warm and dry. You can power wash it as often as you like, and eight years later it's still lasting well. Got it from The Paint Shed in Paisley if the brain cell's working.... :old:

You’d be better off tiling it if it’s a smallish area. Get a good adhesive and grout. They jet wash off lovely as well.
That's what I am going to have done just need another 4 riven floor slates and ready to go, will even match the kitchen:rolleyes:

I have used it for my larder floor and it is good stuff. I just ended up priming my floor and breeze block with pva then a generously applied coat of resin coat.

If I was doing it again I would have been a bit more meticulous in prepping the floor, smoothing any lumps and bumps and applied 2 coats of resin coat.

This is a photo of my larder mid build but will give you an idea of the results I had.

I've just done my garage floor with a twp pack expoxy resin from Watco.
It's normally £118 a tin( colour/activate, resin and granuals to make a non slip surface)
They've got a clearance on at the moment. Myself and a mate bought a load. Worked out at £12.50 a tin. Each tin does exactly 5 square meters with a good thick covering

Only thing was is stone colour... Cotswolds stone

When i lived in England iI did my kennel floor with 2 pack epoxy i got from work. We used to coat prison floors With it as well as other commercial floors. As said above acid etch and degrease the floor first. We coated in two different colours, first coat a different colour from the top coat so you can tell when its time to recoat. What suprised me was how fast the dogs wore through the top coat of this industrial coating. I thought it would take more than 3-4 years before it needed recoating.

Thanks everyone..

I am just waiting for the slab to go off and will then have a play.

I think Watco must have run out as I couldn't find a deal on their site unfortunately.
