Kitting out a study / gunroom?

Hi all
Having a couple of days off work, I have finally got off my arse, cleared my box room and put in a worktop; big enough to comfortably work on a gun.
I was prompted into action after visiting tim@tcs, and enviously looking round his man cave.
Any suggestions for essential items?
I am planning a wall mounted fan, a wall monitor and pc, though may make do with the laptop.
Not currently planning a true gunroom as making it secure enough might be too costly, or is it not?

Not really. A friend built one. It was close to the house, covered by security cameras but had regular doors and windows without bars. It was a converted outbuilding, stone-built with a slate roof. His guns were in cabinets rather than open racks, secured in the usual way. It passed inspection no problem at all.
The advantage is having all your gun paraphernalia permanently set up and in one place which no one else has access to. He had a loading bench down one side and a work bench with gun vice and tools on the other. Having solid stone walls he had the advantage of a deep stone window sill which was ideal for setting up his powder scales as there was no possibility of vibration.

It wasn't particularly big but there was still room for a couple of comfortable chairs and the rest was shelves and storage. There was even a toilet and washroom attached.

Building such a place from scratch would be expensive but converting an existing masonry out-building needn't be, if you can do much of the work yourself. Cameras and alarms don't have to cost any more than the ones on your house and it may be possible to extend the same system.

If you've got a suitable building available it's well worth doing.

1) comfortable sofa
2) big TV
3) cupboards for "stuff"
4) loading / cleaning bench
5) drinks chiller
6) charging points
7) remote doorbell connected to kitchen
8) door lock on inside 😆
optional extras,
9) classic motor bike- bikes
10) sturdy bench near window and bench bag's 😆

i have done a few over the years for folks, bars for windows and steel doors mainly . you will find guidance notes for police available online . contact your feo for more .
in reality you do what you can without raising awareness about what sort of treasure might lay inside, nothing is impregnable. Its better to not draw attention in the first place than keep folks out . A large battery grinder can do a lot of work in a very short time ,.

Do away with your 2 & 9, and replace with:
2) Some nicely mounted heads;
9) Classic rifles.
And I would be in agreement with you there!

Forget item 7 just text your order through to the kitchen. You’re sure to get something sent out. 👍 🤣🤣

Nope......far too tidy.......
Where are the books/bookshelves?, where are the cupboards/chest of drawers? Where are the cleverly mounted trophies? Where are the boxes of vital "stuff"?
I would have put a photo up of my box/fishing/shooting/map/book room, but I put my camera down in there and can't find it!

Give me time!
I only installed the worktop and hung up a few pics this morning.
Oh and the bookshelf is on the left in the pic above.

Finally found a use for an old display case I was given years ago. It reminds me of the huge display case that David Little used to have in the cellar/gunroom in Royston when I was a lad. I used to drawl over it and the racks of vintage classic sporting arms. It was my favourite place to go! And ruined me for life...
