Knife to belt.....

So I have several knives with leather sheath's that dont easily fit onto the belts I use.....I saw someone using what looked like a carabiner to bridge the belt loop on their trousers and teh leather sheath...bingo, great idea I thought....so I ordered a couple of carabiners from Amazon. However, I cant get them to clip into the sheaths I have, just a size and access mismatch. to save some further wasted internet shopping, does anyone here know of a purpose made connector or what size and type of carabiner would do the trick?

Cheers

All bar 1 a (Mora the orange handled one) lives in it's sheath in the poachers or main side pocket as I just use it to start the bleeding on big deer.
The others are in a bag in the truck, I have a couple with belt loops but quite ok if I lost the Mora but not those.

I find that my standard plastic sheathed Mora knife fits nicely in my left hand normal trouser waist pocket and i dont clip it onto my belt.
I have it with a loop of paracord with just enough length to be able to loop it through the nearest trouser belt loop so if it does come out of the pocket i dont lose it.
The whole lot can easily be taken off for cleaning when i get home after the gralloch.
I dont know it is there when out stalking and i dont find it gets in the way.

I used to stalk with two knives on me - a Mora clipper either tucked into the top of a gaiter or in the knife pocket on the left side of my trousers & a Buck Vanguard in a sheath attached to my belt on the right side.

Now, I just have the Mora with me & the Vanguard lives in an ammo can in the car along with the pull saw, tripe knife, all the other knives, my head torch & the cut resistant gloves!

If you want to stick to belt hanging then this is the sort of thing you probably need.

I keep mine on a button on the inside left of my coat, it dangles down out of the way, also if you go into a shop nowone can see it, if its on your belt ,you can forget and maybe get pulled up,

+1 for the Casstrom Dangler - been a user for over 10 years. I carry my bolt separate to the rifle unless on the ground, so I use one for that too, unhooking the carabiner and leaving the holder in the car whilst stalking. The leather portion sits easily on the belt. My Moira sits on another but I transfer the knife to a sheath in the back of the car whilst driving so “it’s not to hand” and it’s not on me if I fill up with fuel, etc. As I put the bolt holder into the back of the car it reminds me to put the knife back into the sheath on my belt. Works well for me.

This solves a problem I never knew I had, going to order a dangler. The sheaf jabs me when I crouch to gralloch etc, unless I have in my bino harness but sometimes that comes off when the hard work begins, depending upon location. The dangler looks perfect.

Just put it in or attach it to your waist or back pack. This way you won't forget to take it off when popping into Waitrose for your supper. Other Supermarkets are available.

There is a seller on the auction site heathen_kydex who makes kydex sheaths with an openable belt clip.
He will make one for any knife if send the one you want it for.
Very happy with the two I have.

This is the one I had made by heathen_kydex. It will come with an openable belt clip.
The guy is a real gentleman to deal with too.
