Kral Puncher...

I don't expect much of a response on here regarding air rifles but I'll tell you anyway.
May help someone.
I've had a little BSA ultra se for not even a year and it's brilliant except it only does 40 shots in 177. I soon run out on a good rat session.
So today a called in the shop to see what Duncan had and there was HW100's, a BSA r10 and an FX.
A bit steep for me so I asked what the other one on its own is. A Kral Puncher in 177.
I asked if they are any good to which I was informed that he had only sold one other and the chap is delighted with it!
So I asked if I could take it home to have a play and he gave it to me.
At home I got a scope on it, nipped around to a friend's to borrow a fitting for the filler and got it all together.
Of note is it's lower fill pressure over the BSA, 200bar to 230bar respectively!
First groups were bad but I realised the barrel had oil in it and needed leading, good old lead 😍.
Then it started to group until it was making ragged holes at near 30yds with pellets the BSA will not shoot! Including I jest not marksman pellets!
It looks like it's gonna give 70 plus shots or more. I don't know if it is regulated but there is no audible valve bounce like the BSA has!
Also it comes with a single shot tray although it's not fantastic and two 14 shot magazines unlike the BSA with just a single 10 shot magazine!
Just need to get it in the field.
Oh and pay up 🤦

@Smellydog . Hope you enjoy your new rifle. Don’t know which variant of the Karl puncher you have but some of the Turkish guns have amazing walnut stocks just need a drink of oil on the stock to bring out the grain.

They are excellent value for the money and the Karl’s are noted for accuracy. The early ones were prone to leaking but think it’s sorted now, I have a sub 12 Reximex Pretensis in .25 and it’s excellent value but most of all great fun,

Enjoy your new rifle!👍regards Rookandrabbit

At one time, I think, Phil Crampton at Ratworks was the UK agent? I have used Phil for some good few years to service my PCP rifles and have never been let down.

I used a puncher Jumbo for ages for ratting and that thing would put pellet on pellet.. they're really good bits of kit and you won't regret it at all.

Enjoy, they're an exceptional rifle for the money.

I had one very similar but the bull pup, most accurate air rifle I think I've ever used. Non regulated so it had a sweet spot (can't remember what now though) and it definitely dropped off on X psi/bar but other than that, it was brilliant. Even plonked out to 140-150 yards with it with reasonable accuracy.

A mate of mine has one. It was an earlier mode so a good few years old. He got the trigger sorted on it and had to get new seals on it. He seems happy with it. Will find out more about his model later on
