Last Friday a few ladies were leaving various destinations in the UK to head to Norfolk for a cull weekend.
This is the second year running we have been invited to Norfolk courtesy of Lee Cooper who took a punt on us last year and decided we weren't too bad!
7 of us with a huge difference in not only experience but also age!
All with one shared passion. Deerstalking.
We were to go out Saturday pm and Sunday am mostly in highseats with permission to shoot whatever stepped out in front of us!
Predominantly CWD and muntys with a small chance of a red.
A house had been rented and the anticipation built gradually whilst we waited for 2 pm on Saturday.
A debrief in the morning and numbers pulled from a hat to get your seat allocation.
A cold but dry afternoon saw us all setting off in different directions.
It seemed a long time before the first shot was fired but it was quickly followed and by dark there were a few deer in the larder and a couple of very nice heads to boot.
Sunday morning and we set off in the dark this time to a different seat. Barely light and the shots began again.
An agreed cut off time of 9 am seemed to come around all too quickly. More deer on the deck and a couple more with nice heads.
After a quick breakfast we all went out separate ways all slightly sad it was over, but not before we had been invited back again next year!!!!
What is difficult to get across is the atmosphere, the support and comeradery. The laughs and fun that all made this such a fantastic weekend. Lee Cooper thank you so much for having the faith in us and giving us this opportunity, we are so very appreciative. To Jack, Lee and David Pullan , thank you all for the help and encouragement.
Not too bad for a bunch of girls!
Artemis Deerstalking will be at The Stalking Show in April please drop in and say high. We'll have lots going on. A raffle with some fantastic prizes. More upcoming events and a rather special butchery and cooking demo with some well known faces
Any ladies interested in joining us we'd love to have you onboard!
