Lagotto Romagnolo update

Hi all, I know there are a few folks interested in this breed for scent work. Mine is 10 months and is coming on brilliantly both as a deer tracking dog and a truffle hunting dog. Lovely nature, very biddable, quite easy to train.

I was intrigued to see if you could train a multi purpose pup for different activities and she certainly has responded well. No shedding, great with kids and works well. If anyone wants to learn more about the breed or has any questions, just ask. Would love to see more Lagottos out in the field.

Cheers
James

Yes interested to see how she gets on. Never seen one in the flesh , do you think they are big enough or have the attitude to hold an injured roe or finish it off if needed or are they too soft natured.

I don't know for sure about that as I think it depends more on the breeding. Having said that, I wouldn't expect mine to as she is quite soft natured. Will start her on live deer this year & will keep you updated 👍

I’m quite interested in a dog like the one you have described! Did you find yours in the uk?

Yes, I would recommend getting in touch with the above and speak with the lady in charge of the working dogs section. Is really depends on what you want your dog to do. They are not cheap, but nothing is these days. To have a a good family dog that doesn't shed, can find truffles, and track a deer is worth it in my eyes.

Thank you!
