My latest puppy was somehow awarded second yesterday at Watergrove NWGSP working test. He has never performed so poorly as yesterday but the judges must have been able to see something I couldn’t.

Just like us they all have off days. You might have been nervous and he picked up on that .
But he still did well

After the shoot yesterday a few of us went for a walk to put some fox bait out as Charlie had ruined two drives. I took the pup to stretch his legs and one gun flanked us in case we put anything up. He dropped a cock bird into thick cover and was unable to find it. He fetched us over and I sent the pup. He made short work of it, scenting it instantly and bringing it back very happily to hand.
