Leaving - days to go

Let us all hope some sense is seen and the evident bitterness on the continent to a UK brexit lessens and some mature and considerate approach to each party is produced - its a bit like I want the new pencil - no I want all of them. I have never seen such political selfishness in France since De Gaule was in power - and thats saying something, since he was put there by the rest of the world maily UK and US. Germany is bankrolling the EU and will really get p'd off when the EU's debts start to bite and France tactfully withdraws - or is that surrenders.

Not only house prices , second hand car values are very high too.
Something I find very hard to explain in these 'pandemic' times ?
I read somewhere that hits on Autotrader are up 35% during lockdown and they reckon it's a result of people not being able to spend cash during lockdown and have extra savings and are looking to upgrade their motors instead. As a result second hand car market prices are higher by about 8-10 percent.

Yes - I do wonder when the average German will get fed up with paying the way of all the mickey mouse economies that make up the majority of the EU

The biggest industry in the EU seems to be the cashing of the German gyro

But what are we going to soldier in with.

UK infrastructure- completely broken and never invested into. Look at our Motorways, Rail, Telecoms etc - all well beyond sell by date. any new projects vastly over run budgets and years late - cf Crossrail, or Edinburgh Trams. And the Motorways are car parks (well Covid means are quite empty, but Christmas time???).

UK skill base. Yes we have some good universities, but UK schooling is falling far behind - again lack of investment and frankly political will. During the pandemic many many kids have not received an education.

UK healthcare - we spend a high proportion of GDP on healthcare, but have a pretty poor system.

UK has a brilliant ability to spend very very large sums of money and still create a 21st century infrastructure for a vibrant economy. Mostly because vast sums of money are redistributed from government upwards and outwards to outside interests. Why is the biggest producer of electricity EDF - that’s Electricity de France - a French state owner company???

BREXIT will do nothing to rectify past faults.

Perhaps not, but decades in the EU have done us no good either........Look at the above list for starters.

Synopsis of UK position

A man in a hot air balloon realized he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a man below. He descended a bit more and shouted,

"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man below replied, "You are in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You are between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."

"You must be an engineer," said the balloonist.

"I am," replied the man, "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help so far."

The man below responded, "You must be a Brexiteer."

"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know."

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. The fact is, you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault."

Reverse order Edward Heath, 😂😂😂COMMON MARKET. 🤮🤮🤮

By your synopsis...... (that you have been sent)......you imply that the British government have no idea where they are at this moment, far from it !!

Before l go any further let me say l have no problems with remainers, apart from all the tossers outside Downing Street who constantly harangued any movement whatsoever, in my opinion making themselves look complete and utter anti democratic w@nkers.

If we all live in a democratic society and that democratic society have voted leave the EU we respect that decision, if it had gone the other way we would have respected that decision, but to constantly harp on that the British voters have made the wrong decision in my book is totally unacceptable.
What is it about a democratic vote that was by no means close, 1.7 million l seem to remember in favour of leaving that you can’t or won’t accept ?

l see from your avatar that you live in a most beautiful part of the world, and that the devolved government you live under wants total independence and to remain within the EU, it would be a very sad day if that happened, we as a nation are United but if it’s division you want l personally would let you have it but if your countrymen voted democratically ‘again‘ and want to remain in a United Kingdom......would you accept that decision ??

If your countrymen decided to leave the ‘United Kingdom‘ where does the money come from to support the infrastructure of an independent nation, would taxes have to rise ? and if your government have their way a lot of your economy (sporting) would be annihilated.
Could your nation afford, with independence, to join the EU l don’t think so, but go ahead go independent and try and rejoin the EU........good luck with that !!

My opinion is that your countrymen will vote against independence yet again, at this point will you accept that decision ? I don’t get the impression you will, or will it go to a best out of 3 out of 5 ??

 Gosh I haven't heard that one for a few years. I can't remember what it referred to before you changed it. I still like it though.

And let us remember them, that died in the mud & the blood, while Nations could once more wave their silly little flags again, the rise of Nationalism & the far right, & Farage and Bannon & Reessmog will count their Millions in some dark corner of a tax free Cayman Virgin island account & laugh at the seeds of dissent they have sown, for they have seized control, & we have been fooled. Lets look at the good things to come from the European Union for one minute, take a look at that footage of all those young men who got slaughtered in far away lands, for what? to satisfy the bloodlust of the insane, under the guise of Nationalism. Peace is what we got from a European union, Churchill could see the advantage of it, I can as well. One nation, one Race the Human race, our problems are their problems, their problems are ours. What we need is a revolution, people are starting to realise we don't need a National government, we don't need a european government, we need a global government. One last thing, why is it that we are the only nation on earth that doesn't control fishing in its waters? you'd better ask the fishermen who they sold their quotas to?
