Lee Enfield No4 Mk2 markings

I’d appreciate some expert opinion regarding the markings on my Lee Enfield. There is a “N” stamped below a crown - does this refer to a rifle issued fir the Royal Navy?
The serial number dates it to 1949 and from Fazakerley. All the serial numbers match on the steel work, yet on the bottom of the fore stock the date is stamped F and 53.
There is no serial number stamped on the magazine and Inhave read conflicting information about this. On one hand I read that some were stamped and some were not, and on the other, I read that if it’s not stamped it’s a replacement.
My thought regarding the different year stamp on the wood was that the rifle was not fully assembled and sent out until 1953, but other suggest it’s a replacement part.
or if someone can point me to a definitive information source that would be helpful
thanks

Is the N on the left side of the receiver? If so then it may be a Naval issue mark. If its on the buttstock then its normal length.

AFAIK the standard, normal length, buttstick is always unmarked. Only the long "L", the short "S" and the bantam "B". The Royal Navy only marked AFAIK their weapons with a plain N. Being "the senior service" it needed no crown. I suspect if not a proof mark a mistamped BNP or NP that it's a Norwegian Army property mark?
