Left Handed Options?

You could probably get it all in a shoe box, even including a hand press!

I shan't let the missus know 😂

She was already disgruntled as "apparently" I didn't tell her how many calibres I have down on my application 🤣

Any links for me to be curious about please? 😅 I only really know about the Lee kits as that's what a friend uses

A Lee Loader!
A beam scale and trickler for accurate powder weighing.
A hand press and die for bullet seating adjustment.
A caliper and comparator kit to check dimensions.
A kinetic hammer puller for mistakes and using with the Lee Loader.
Case lube,
1lb of your chosen powder.
100 of your chosen bullets.
Primers.
Cases.

I'm sure there is much more that people will say you just can't do without!

Above all, DON'T BUY HER A HORSE!

Thanks!

I might just have to keep my eye open for reloading stuff 😂

At the same time, purchases for later down the line after I've recovered from filling the cabinet 🤣

Edit: Safe from horses, missus is afraid of heights 😆 Even a wee shetland's too high off the ground for her

There is many right bolt but ambidextrous stock rifles. You could still shoot fine lefthanded.

I'm lefthanded and have always found that wasn't a problem

I've only managed to get it all in a wine box, using a Lee hand press, including all the powder, bullets and cases.
I found that the thing to do is to forget worrying about what particular cartridge you want. Within limits they all work fine and most of the opinions on a particular cartridge are either nonsense or of only very marginal difference. Just so long as you can get brass cases or any cheap rounds to reload one way or another. Keep an eye out for a good quality rifle in your price range and dont worry if it's not exactly what you wanted...probably second d hand. There's less choice but also less of a market so you can get some very good rifles for surprisingly low cost.

Although I shoot’s right handed (but am left handed) I can shoot left handed with all of my rifles, but oddly I am right eye dominant so it does feel odd and not at all natural.

Give me a pistol, however, and I can’t shoot it right handed, only left!!

Same goes for eating - I use a knife and fork right handed, but can only carve or cut anything with a knife only in my left!

I’m am royally screwed up by living in a right handed world!!

For the money - defo a plus 1 for a Bergara. Have several Tikka’s as well (and a few CZ’s) but love the Bergara - excellent bit of kit at that price point. Probably - lot more Tikka’s secondhand on the market but unless budget is a massive issue you’ll pick up a brand new Bergara for not a lot more than a used Tikka. Happy shopping!!

Perhaps go and take a look at this. The vendor is widely reputed to be a good guy and will prob be happy to give you sound advice

I was actually in there looking at this the other day. I have had an offer of something similar that I am very tempted by. Yet to accept as I have my FAC home visit on Friday and I do not want to tempt fate!

I am very, very left eye dominant 😅 I can shoot right handed, but requires me to really screw the left eye shut (almost as painful as it sounds 😂) I've tried with eye covers etc, but there's something that just does not make it feel great!

For my target rifle, I am tempted to just get a rightie, as I've found, so long as I'm shooting off a bipod (which is what most of my CF target shooting will be) it's actually very comfortable to shoot with a r/h bolt, don't feel like I have to shift as much to cycle it.

But I don't enjoy it as much when on sticks or worse still off the elbows. I get by, by reaching across with my left and using the bolt "backwards" as such, but for the money of a rifle I'd rather just get something with a left hand bolt 😅

Sometimes it’s just not viable to just shoot right handed …. ****es me off when folk think it’s just a case of swapping over …
Reasons aplenty
Yes options more limited but options there are if your left handed and left eye dominant and want a left handed bolt bloody go for it !

LHB rifles are available - if you are left handed/eye dominant the chances are you'll shoot better with one.

To build on what @Apthorpe is saying - it is my opinion that the primary benefit of reloading/loading your own ammunition is that it allows you to be somewhat agnostic about the chambering you end up with. This is especially beneficial as you're already operating in a reduced pool of available rifles by looking for a true left hand bolt. The nice thing is that the atypical chamberings are often priced to reflect the scarcity and relatively high cost of the factory rounds. I remember seeing some really attractive prices on used rifles in 7x64, 260 Rem, 280AI etc. Private sellers of these will often even throw in dies+brass - so it definitely bears thinking about.

All my rifles are right handed. The only real issue I have come across is when trying Civilian Service Rifle, as operating a right handed service rifle at speed with my left hand is something I have still to master. I do have one left handed shotgun, but that's my semi-auto. The only other "concession" I have made over the years was a left hand grip, right hand inlet stock for my .308 target rifle.

I have seen the left hand tax on new rifles these last few weeks, as helping a mate out in his shop.

Mark

It works fine to shoot military servive rifles left handed but I havnt`t tryed L85 it might cause a headace. I have paid the 100£ more for lh rifles and shotgun its only really special rifles I cant find at a reasonable price. A lefthanded 221 remington fireball would be nice.

I bought a Bergara BA13 what is 84cm long and its made 100% like sided so a rh friend can use it without any compromise.

Another option in left hand is the Anschutz 1782. I have one in 6.5 Creedmoor and Left Hand. I ordered it directly from Anschutz. I think that line is more available where you’re at compared to here in the states.

I gave up after looking since March, only lefties were silly money.
Both Savage and Ruger make left handed versions of their bolt guns. Both are very reasonably priced. Not the same quality level as many of the others mentioned, but fully functional and very accurate. So there are less expensive options out there. Not sure of availability where you’re at.
