For Sale: Leg of Mutton Slip

Slightly odd one this. Purchased some years ago, but never used.

Its a leg of mutton slip in light brown leather, made by a German brand, Farmhood. Shoulder strap, carrying handle, double buckle closure, all very nice brass and leather buckles. Chammy leather interior. £50 plus postage, or collection from HP18 area (Bucks / Oxon border)

Good question...

There is no seperate section for barrels - its just one compartment internally.

Measuring with a tape, spine on the long straight edge is 58cm, width at the top opening is 31cm, and the 'snout' is 9cm diameter.

Lovely bit of kit but I doubt it’s for a shotgun - for example my old Brady LoM measures 80cms!
Maybe for a Post Office “job” but more likely a Broomhandle Mauser - perhaps?
Intriguing though…
