Leica or Ziess

Hi all

Im after some new binos, fancy treating myself to a pair of decent and was looking at Leica Trinova 8x42s, or the Zeiss Conquest HD.

I cannot immediately see much difference between their specs, wondered if anyone had either pair and could comment on their views?

Both great binoculars. Shameless plug I have some Ziess Victory HT for sale in the classifieds. Superb bins for what I am asking.
May be of interest to you.

When I wanted rf bins went to swillington, they had zeiss Swarovski and lieca. To my eyes all were similar the lieca had hundreds of reasons to choose them cos they were on offer 😉

Over the years I have invested in Swarovski, Zeiss and Leica binoculars.

Out of these the Leica Geovids are my go-to binoculars.

I have a couple of 8x30 ish binoculars I’m looking to sell. Leica Trinovid 8x32 BA and the older Swarovski 8x30 SLC. Both in excellent condition.
Just a thought.

Thank you for the kind offer, as these are a gift for Xmas from my wife (hopefully) she would rather buy new, so to all those who are selling thank you for highlighting them and under other circumstances i would have been keep to look.

Best of luck with your sale. Glenn

get a set of the high end vortex eg Razor HD or UHD. I swapped both scope and binos to vortex Razor after dropping a set of Leica binos that wrote them off. Vortex offer a lifetime accidental damage guarantee and will repair / replace for free.

Optical Quality of the Razors is as good as Leica and you don’t have to wrap them in cotton wool!

Had both and very little between them.Perhaps members experiences on after sales service may sway the decision.

At any price point I would strongly recommend handling and comparing bins at a specialist dealer. Personal ergonomics are important in something you are going to own and use for (hopefully) a very long time.
