Leica Trinovid 10x42 BA, old model. Are they any good?

I preferred the 7x42 BA to the 10x42 BA. However both in my opinion were better than the later BN which gave nearer focus for butterfly watchers (true) at the expense of longer focus and nearsightedness friendliness. But with both BA and BN be aware to check that the rubber coating is in good order.

Leica BA vs BN models
I have seen an interesting 8x50 BA and I might consider buying them. Now, as I recall the only differene between older BA and newer BN series is the close focus ability in the BN series which is not important to me. Is there anything else to consider?

Are old Leica Trinovid any good? In good condition, absolutely: robust, good glass etc.
Are 10x42 any good? If that's the power and size you want, yes. I use 10x42 on the hill, but 7x42 for wood and field.
Is BA any good - as per Enfieldspares as long as you're not a butterfly-watcher.

Hmm! MIne, 7x42BA came from the Leica Store in London as it is on the same street as Holland and Holland. I bought them in about 2015 and paid about £350 or so from memory? I see the now on eBay for silly daft money. Also don't forget that stuff sold by the Leica Store will have their reputation behind them. Stuff off eBay I'd advise travelling to see, try, inspect.

These are also good if you want a certain performance specification but aren't bothered about the make as they has, literally, a six hundred yard view out the back door.
