Let's make a move!

Fallow pinged my camera on the way to site so there was nothing I could about that! Deer over the boundary picking the last few winter beans after it has been pulled over, I counted 5 then 4 more came out on my side but they were does with fawns, not feeling the vibe this evening from the seat it was an easy choice to pull stumps as the truck is not far also I reverse down the track for that very reason. A hedge give some cover for the drive to take a look, 3 yearling where just around the corner looking at me  they bounded off so the choices were falling off a cliff! A fair heat source in the distance so the truck took a 100 yds off "but" they suddenly looked a lot bigger!
Then a flash of a hot antler "game on" 2 bucks had stopped feeding and looking my way, ready on the sticks big piece of scrub inline with the boiler room so 5 paces left nope he steps around, but his big fat neck is dead plum, a crack from my .243 he falls over and his mate has turned into Red Rum.
I closed down to 30 yards with a bit of twitching so a second round in the back of the head as the cost of one more round is nothing to one getting up and then a disaster.
64kg hot on my scales second antler was around a 5" stump, full of fat every thing looking as it should.

Nice looking animal and well done. Totally agree on the second shot to make 100% sure, better that then the alternative 👍 🥰
