Simple bracket fixed to tie down points using their threaded fixings
The ladder system works well…. Whilst a heavy deer is difficult and I’ve not lifted a red, strapping a sika onto the ladder section lifting one end onto the tailgate and then going the other end does make it easier…. It’s a while since I’ve done physics but once you’ve got the whole thing horizontal you’ve only got 50% of the weight? It’s the start that’s the hardest part….This, its simple and effective Even with big lowland reds.
Did you have that made locally Andy? Also is pic 4 wishful thinking with the current weatherSimple bracket fixed to tie down points using their threaded fixings
Oh I can for sure, we have some of the same ilk making this crap up also. You are not going to believe this John
Yes made locally by an FC mechanic/fabricator….. didn’t mean to add the old holiday pic….. oops. Duly deleted.Did you have that made locally Andy? Also is pic 4 wishful thinking with the current weather
Deer are a sloppy weight, it’s difficult to get a clean lift. With the ladder you have something to get a hold of.The ladder system works well…. yesIs the winch rail fixed to tub hooks?
Work smarter not harder, I like it. Bears thinking about when they built Stonehenge they had no swing shovels or loaders. Having said that I never shoot Reds now unless I'm accompanied as I always end up laid up for weeks with a bad back if Im solo. This, its simple and effective Even with big lowland reds.
I use a piece of 12mm plyboard and use my capstan winch these days, but this works
Those stakes are brilliant, I use 2 to anchor my capstan winch in the middle of some wet fields and they always hold fast.I have one of those screw in dog stakes to use as the anchor points if there are no trees. Works perfectly.
Heave the front end up with tackle, then swing the back legs up?Did someone mention big low land Reds without a winch?
Done it many times on a regular basis alone using a couple of methods.
Currently using a revised technique which I picked up off one of the members on here. Who kindly advised me via the WhatsApp messaging with images and a short video.View attachment 300074
Easy.Heave the front end up with tackle, then swing the back legs up?
You won't get the pallet or F lift in the chiller lolExchange the gambrel for a pallet Tim... It will be even easier![]()

Where do the dogs sit with no truck top lol...Loading deer of any size into a chiller is a different application Tim.
Unloading from a pickup load bed with a fork lift using a gambrel is an ideal practice.
Aren't we discussing the subject of "loading" into a truck bed??
Because in that case if we are?
There better methods than the one you are showing in your picture.
Especially with a vehicle with a truck top fitted.![]()
