Lion v Man…..

One from back in the day when men were men and lions were…. flipping dangerous!
I wonder if the chap who was cleverly…err…. pinning the lion down, was mildly miffed when his pal let fly presumably with something the size of a small torpedo, whilst his arm was still in the rascal’s mouth? By the look he gave him I would say so…

When tiddlywinks no longer gives you a thrill.
The splicing together of clips from 2 different hunts suggests it all went well (albeit not for the lion) the first time, so they thought they would give it another go and see if they could end up with one each, end ended up pushing their luck further than it would go.
I wonder if they were compensating for missing the war, or just missing war.
I couldn't find any background on the men, Wyman and Olivier, but there is a corresponding photo article in an August 22 issue of Life Magazine (Life 1955-08-22 Vol. 39, No. 8 : Life : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive):
