Hello, I was wondering if anyone has some load data for a 223 they could share. Looking at bullets between 40-55g ballistic tip. Will be using hornady brass. Powders and charges? Thanks

It'll vary with each rifle, and what is safe in one, may not be in another etc etc. For accuracy, it'll depend on the barrel/stock harmonics of each set up as well as load. A load manual is the best place to start really, that or a powder manufacturer's own data (Vhit have extensive load data on their site). Start low, as ever, and work up. I've found that the "mid" load data in the manuals loaded to magazine length is almost always the best place to start.

Drop me a PM and I can share some of my 60gr loads if of any use, bearing the above provisos in mind. Vhit 133 works very well with 223 for 60 grain and under, is clean burning, and good value compared with Ramshot or Varget for example.

I use H335 under a 55grn Sierra Blitzking sparked by Federal 205M primers in Lapua brass, now i use 27grns and must stress that this load is safe in my Rifle but may not be in other rifles, it was worked up using data from the Sierra No5 reloading manual.

Ramshot tac 23 g if i remember correct ..55g vamx ragged hole at 100m... what is your .223 rifle twist ?..

Thanks for the info up to now. Twist rate is a 1 in 12. I can't remember exactly what powders my RFD stocked but I'm pretty positive cfe223 was in there along with varget and a few vhit powders. Cci primers aswell

26.5gr. Benchmark with 52gr amax. 3650fps out of 24" barrel

I'm loading 40gr SBK over ramshot exterminator, getting good accuracy and 3650 at their max load which i worked up to from minimum load, out of a 1:9 CZ527.

Probably not much help as its hard to get hold of at the mo!!
