Hi all advise please, I am about to run out of my stock of RL19 and need a replacement powder for my old 6.5 x 55

I use 120gn Nosler bullets. With the current load the MV is around 2585 fps.

I am considering Vhit 150 or 155. Has anyone got a recommended load for 120gn bullets or advice on which powder to use.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I assume you do not have a manbun, rather you shoot a modern Skan/SE?
I have no experience of N155 but 150 or N160 will do nicely. My pet load for 120gns Sierra Prohunters is 45gns of N160 - loaded very long or the same with 130gns Sierra Gamechangers.
As always start low and work up incrementally!

just done a work up with 120gr pro hunters with n150 first four looked like a shotgun as in they only just made the paper last atvits max load had three touching and the fourthvery close so i gave up at that with no pressure signs Tikka 695 this was off a bag of wheet ontop of a straining post certainly good enough for deer

Thanks I really appreciate the info as I have not used Vhit in this calibre. Yes I have an ageing Tika T3 that seems to do the job nicely. Thanks also for the link.

Download the Viht app for some data as a guide. I use 47.0gr N555 with multiple 120-123g bullets and it work for my rifle / barrel.

Thanks I have tried to use the online vhit guides but they seem very limited. Ill download the app.
Thanks for the info re N555
Much appreciated.

I have always had good results with N160. Loaded from 95 grain v max up to 130 grain
accubond. If my memory serves me correctly I used 46 grains with nosler 120 grain ballistic tips. Always start low and work up.
