long range scope recommendations for sub £1000

Id recommend looking at what elevation range you need to help narrow it down. Vortex Strike eagle, venom and the some of the Riton scopes for example suffer with reduced elevation travel when you set the zero stop. I use an IOR recon myself and its an absolute tank of a scope but it'll give me 35mils of elevation. Delta are alright but I found the eye relief hellish long on my javelin and good luck getting the lense caps off in a hurry to fit your sun shade lol

I would also recommend the Arken EP5 Gen 2, and the Arken one piece 20MOA mount (they are a steal at £69!)

I have 4 Arkens, and also have Nightforce, Swarovski and Zeiss - so have compared them side by side - yes, the more expensive scopes have better clarity but not 5 times better as the cost would suggest!

I regularly use my Arken for longer range targets and it tracks very well and has a good return to zero system.

Regards,
Gixer

I have a nightforce for sale

Well within your budget, doesn’t have locking turrets but in normal use that’s not likely to be a problem.

Should add, no connection to the seller.

I rate my IOR 6 - 24 x 50 highly. It would prefer 1/8 MOA instead or 1/4 MOA adjustment and a bit more elevation but I'm happy for the 600 or so odd quid i paid secondhand.

Im going to be selling a Maven RS4 5-30x56 soonish for around £1k.

No locking turrets but fantastic glass quality for the price.

I've also recently had a play around with DNT 'The One' 7-35x56mm.. basically an Arken EP5 with some improvements.. but again no locking turrets but well within your budget.h

What scope would you compare the maven to and what are you getting next
Er thats a difficult one.

The glass is found to have a bit better brightness and contrast in all lighting conditions than my old Vortex Razor Gen II.

The turrets have a much softer and quieter feel to them than the likes of a Vortex Razor and a little softer than my Leupold Mark 5.

Im consolidating a little bit at the moment and depending on route I go down with my 2 Rifles I might just use the Leupold on both and not replace the Maven for a few years.

Haven't been let down by the Hawke Frontier 34 FFP 5-30 x 56 MRAD, picked one up s/h, been out to c.1300 metres with it at Eskdalemuir, it's now in Burris Signature XTR mounts with extra MOA, so will be going for the mile with it in the future. The glass is very clear, really like the ret and it tracks and returns to zero like a boss.

The delta javelin for sale on here, search delta.
Second that recco on delta optics
Shot a rifle on an ELR day and the delta has fantastic glass - bright clear sight picture
For the money it’s excellent and I have bought delta laser finding binos -

Already covered by another member but don’t overlook the arken EP5 in particular the new Gen 2 which had up to 35 zoom

I got my gen1 a couple of months ago for £369 at tactical scope

They did 10% off your first purchase and all prices reduced by 10% for bank holidays so got double discount

Maybe they’ll have a Black Friday sale in a few weeks you could get yourself a bargin

I also bought the 1 piece mount for £59.99, throw level and flip up caps so it’s a very cohesive system :)

My Delta Stryker was good but the Maven was a step up
