Looking for a UK boar as I've never shot one
I would need to hire or borrow a rifle as mine isn't big enough for them
Any recommendations would be great
Many thanks

I did need to use them as shoot my own .
But both are recognised outfits in the forest of dean area with a proven track record for wild boar
Ok I will look for their details. We had one unsuccessful outing with a guy called Barry, booked through A1 decoys. We certainly heard some boar, but never saw any & the area to shoot over wasn`t that big. It seemed all our hopes was pinned on them coming to the one feed/bait station.

Yes his reputation comes before him unfortunately if you search him on other forums 🤦‍♂️.
Your best bet would be Warren currently with numbers dramatically reduced in the dean.
I've added his link

I think going by the trips I've done that's the norm to be static on a bait station, though some people do go mobile. I've heard that the numbers aren't what they used to be and like stalking there is no guarantee of getting any on a single outing. I've been to Barry's twice and shot 3 the first time and saw boar but didn't get a chance of a shot the second time.
I've been elsewhere and also blanked but my friend got 3 that night.

interesting to hear I will have a look about. To be fair it was our first outing so had nothing to compare it with & others seem to have had successful outings.

Definately, like all wild animals, nothing can be guaranteed. I know this myself & it applies across the board with pigeons, duck, deer & Boar. As I say it was our first trip. I have seen others mention when they have not had luck in one area they have moved onto a different location, but I suppose that relies on what land is available & where the boar want to be/feed.

Another vote for Barry, been with him once and saw 2 sounders come through, one with 4 the other of 6. Only managed to drop one due to safe shots etc but great to actually see them. My shooting partner in another hide didn't see a sausage all night, that's just the way the cookie crumbles I suppose. Booked to go again early next year, for the prices he's worth the punt and can confirm there was definitely boar and roe in numbers as of September 👍
