I think Macallan is one of my favourite tipples.

I am not judging you (or you know who), but I never want to be that guy who died; leaving behind a wonderful collection of Whisky/Whiskey that they never enjoyed, either with friends or just sat with your dog, staring into a log fire...

I like a Malt myself and being from Northern Ireland a Bushmills is my malt of choice.
On the subject of of the McCallan I’d drink it and enjoy it, the room would not be full of hookers there would be no party but I might send an invite to Joanna Lumley

I don't drink the stuff! Had a bad experience with it when I was younger, a lot younger and it has put me off big time, there are a few bottles I've had for a while now and they have a warning sign on them for my wife. Do not touch haha.

Bushmills, nice part of the country, used to stay at the causeway cottages year after year when over for the NW 200 road race.

There is a story on here from a PH whose regular guest 'polluted' really good whisky with a mixer.


If you have quarter of a million to spend on a bottle of Whisky, when on earth do you drink it?

Who would you share it with - surely you have to share it?

What occasion would be so special?

Not quite in that league but a friend and I drank a bottle of £1100 whisky,his I may add not mine
He didn't buy it he received as gift, he knew it was rare and researched it to find the value ,all this I new
Sometime later I entered one night to have a dram thrust in my hand regular occurrence when I visited.
Silence for a few minutes and then what do you think? Well its OK but it's not your usual Glenlivet no it's that
that bottle I.was given he replied. What ! We can't drink that, of course we can he said it was.made for drinking and
that's what we will do. So we did the whole.bottle.
He is a really good friend.

I would really like to be friends with his friend though.lol

So sad they rely on sponsorship to get decent kit. The snipers even buy their own scopes to get something decent

I’m sorry but I have to call this out. The sniper rifles issues to the British Army are Accuracy International and the scopes from Schmidt and Bender. They have people go to shot show and other expos every year to look at the advancements in technology and have pretty much an open check book with someone of Whitehall rank attending with them to discuss acquisitions.

The 22 lads get the best training and kit. They will sometimes buy their own clothing and are one of the only units allowed to wear non issue clothing on duty.

There are various whisky and port with the same insignia for sale across the internet. I can’t recall where the proceeds go.
