Mackerel and wild camping West coast Scotland

One of the biggest problems has been large factory boats dredging the seabed. These are totally indiscriminate in what they catch and pretty much destroy everything on the sea bed. The sea bed is breeding ground and nursery for many young fish.

Yes they have to throw back the by catch, but by the time that they do its all dead.

One of the biggest benefits of all the offshore windfarms is that are complete no go zones for any boats with patrol boats keeping everone out. Seabeds are recovering rapidly and they are becoming valuable nurseries for fish stocks.
The wind farms off suffolk ive fished several times no issue with patrol boats, the crew boats are only about during the day.
The enlargement of one set was stopped, this would of impacted commercial fishing.
The rest was built on an area rarly fished.
I would be suprised if windfarms arent fished

The Brighton wind farm is one of the best fishing locations in the area! Something ludicrous like 17 miles across so you’d need a fleet of patrol boats to keep anyone out. It’s heavily fished by small commercials, charters and private boats.

I dont think the modern commercial fisher mans country of origin matters, they all destroy the sea for the sake of profit.
Absolutly disgusting industry.
If you cant catch fish you shouldnt be able to eat fish
Couldn't agree more.
I know many folks think Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is a joke, but he did highlight the problem with "Discard". I don't know what he achieved :-|
