Pub recommendation

There's nowhere else to put it, so I thought it would be OK here.

The Wife and I recently spent a week up on the west coast of Scotland for the first time and had a great time. We were extremely lucky with the weather, which made the already stunning scenery even more so.

Stopped in a little cottage in Kilmun on the Holy Loch which is only a few miles from one of the best pubs I've ever been in, The Coylet Inn on Loch Eck.

Run by Carl, a very knowledgeable hunter/stalker and his good lady (didn't catch her name) and an eclectic mix of extremely friendly and helpful staff, serving good food and bonhommie that really made our time in the area even more enjoyable.

If your ever in the area, I can thoroughly recommend it. Just don't be surprised (as I was) by the Simpson Bros shirts worn by the staff. Travelled almost 400 miles to find one of my local gunshops advertised! Apparently Marcus spends some time up there.

Good idea. One for the Mods to look into if they have any spare time.

Section sub-divided by County / region to save time trawling through hundreds of entries perhaps?

Forgot to add to my OP - Coylet is very dog friendly. Went with two and nearly came back with none!!!

I know the site moderators have plenty to do and would hate to load yet more pressure on them, but it would be a sensible sub-forum to have on SD.....
Maybe would be worth having it on a "log in users only" part of the site to avoid problems (or reduce any input ) from the "anti" brigade. Similar to the jokes and funnies section?

Sorry @sikamalc , @csl !:tiphat:
