Hilux query

I have a 3-litre Hilux first Reg 2009 with 80,000 on the clock. I've owned it for 9 trouble-free years but have run into a problem.
The other night I suddenly lost power and just made it home crawling in first gear. The RAC were called the next morning and their diagnostic check showed "DTC PO200. injectors control, open circuit.
Suspect EDU for the injector system."
Work was done by my garage with a new unit fitted, The truck ran perfectly for 5 miles then the same fault occurred and I was towed to the garage by my friendly RAC man.
As I'm no mechanic I wondered if any Hilux owners had had a similar problem. My garage man (a Hilux owner) suspects the injectors.
Incidentally, the RAC guy said it was extremely rare to have to attend a Hilux breakdown!

A friends hilux had an issue where it lost power out of nowhere, turns out there's apparently an issue with fuel gauges in them where they end up being considerably lower than what is shown on the gauge and that the engine had no fuel in it. May be a different issue to yours but potentially worth a check

Did you have the service before the problem occurred. My old 2010 one did that once, I had to drain the fuel filter of water after having been sold some contaminated diesel. It kept going into limp mode.

When the problem first happened I put the truck in for repair and a full service. After collection, the same problem came back.

I had a 3.2 Shogun that displayed similar symptoms. Turned out to be debris in the fuel tank that completely blocked the filter when the fuel was low enough. Worth a look?

A pal had a fuel filter housing crack.
I seem to recall there was an issue with the injectors on the earlier D4D engines.

I had a RAV4 with that engine in 2.2. An intermittent fault would send it into limp mode. Almost as though it was misfiring. Turned out to be the high pressure fuel pressure sensor. Apparently the shuttle is very susceptible to scoring and tggptaam lead to incorrect feedback to the ECU (or something like that) A new one cost under £50 and look two minutes to replace.

Mine has the same issue funny enough. Dial show 1/4 tank but computer says 15 miles. I learned to never trust the dial. I even set it off to be checked and it still does it

Mine suddenly used to loose power and shut down even at motorway speeds.
I could reset it by turning the ignition off and immediately back on, this would cancel out the mil light that had just illuminated and hey presto full power again.

This was traced to a faulty aftermarket engine management unit that is supposedly be able to give more bhp and less fuel used.
It was a TDI unit that was out of warranty by 3 months.
