Making natural leather from skins

Using natural tannins from tree bark - first step to making a pair of boots, gunslip, knife sheath etc from a deer skin. Doesn’t look overly hard work. More just takes time letting the hide soak the tannins. Minimal kit and minimal cost. Probably stinks so not for doing in the kitchen.

Wow impressive end result but I'm afraid more work than I'm planning on doing, I've done quite a few hides using white tan and others, roe worth doing red not so much, but the dog loves them to sleep on!

Hmm. I think obtaining bison tallow could be the hardest part!
Not sure many of us would have somewhere to do it.
