Mannlicher SSG

I have been quoted £750 for a thumbhole stock for a Mannlicher SSG. Never having bought such a thing, it struck me as quite expensive.

Any thoughts on where I might get one for less money, or no whether this is a reasonable price would be appreciated.

Or you could put the money aside for a new rifle when the barrel is shot. Alternatively trade it in for a Howa with a thumbhole stock!

£750 is a lot of brass, where was this quote from?

The quote was from Staffordshire Synthetic Stocks. Looks like they do good work and from some responses I have had it seems the price is about right. Just sounds expensive.

Zaitsev I already have a howa with a thumbhole (and indeed a remmy with one) and which is how I know I like them.

If it was me my money would be on the Mcmillan, rather than any other as these are tried and tested. ;)

I did look a while back but could'nt see a thumbhole for the SSG.
