Afternoon all,
Up for sale is my Mauser K98 Kriegsmodell sniper composition. I didn’t put this one together so I’m not too sure on the history/parts sourced. It’s based on a non-matching numbers K98 Kriegsmodell, which is a wartime K98 with a number of features to speed up and cheapen the manufacturing process. This one is a semi Kriegsmodell, in that it has laminate stock, no bayonet lug or cleaning rod but does retain the bolt takedown disc embedded in the stock. The action bears AR 43, denoting that it was manufactured in 1943 at the Mauser Borsigwalde factory.
This rifle has had a reproduction sniper safety added to the bolt and a long side rail scope mount on which a 6x49 scope of unknown origin but correct in look and reticle. I’ve added a handmade cheek riser and a splinter camo wrap to the fore-end.
Good bore and functions flawlessly. Groups nicely at 100 with PPU 198gr. I’ve had this out to 600m on falling figure 11’s. A really nice rifle all in, only selling as I’m just not getting the use out of it. Very interesting talking piece at the range and far cheaper than an authentic K98 sniper rifle. £1600 with a set of dies and whatever brass I have left over.
