Mauser or Tikka

I’m going to be soon looking for a new .243 rifle mainly for fox control but am torn between the Mauser M12 impact and the T3X.
I have had Tikkas in the past but was thinking of a change or am I better off sticking with what I know, has anyone had any experience with the M12 and have there been any known problems as I have heard of some Sauer rifles suffer with corrosion as I thought they may come from the same factor.

Do you have a Tikka now still? Rebarrel it.
Mauser looks nice, a guy at the rsnge let me try his & the bolt was silk. Prob a good action to build on later to

Got both and personally think the M12 wins hands down in terms of finish, mag ejection and the safety.

Both great accurate rifles - so suggest you handle both to see which fits and suits your needs best.

Used both. I think the Mauser is a better rifle, but the tikka feels more simple, less fiddly. I was I. The same quandary as you 2 years ago and ended up buying a second hand sako.

I have tikka T3 in .243 and .308 , i also had a tikka T3X varmint in .308 which I sold and bought a Mauser M12 Extreme in 300 win mag, all very nice rifle. the 3 stage safety takes some getting used to on the Mauser after using tikka’s for so long though .

Had an impact in 308 since they came available it has always shot any ammo well mod on or off short pointable rifle that I recently had cerokoted as the paint job was poor I’d like a new stock for it too as that is starting to look tatty but a good work tool over all

I have a Mauser M12 (see profile pic), excellent rifle. You won’t go wrong. Felt better than Tikka, when I was in the market.

I compared the two at the dealer's and the Mauser M12 Impact impressed me most so I bought one. No regrets, it's a very 'handy' rifle and others have remarked on this. Build quality is good and the 3-position safety is a plus.

Tikka T3: scaled down version of Sako TRG sniper rifle, made to function in all out winter warfare against Russia.

Just to say, my M12 Impact is 4.5kg with everything except a bi-pod. It's a bit heavy to me but maybe just because I'm not that big. Not sure how heavy a T3x lite is with everything. To be clear, everything means the mod, the scope, a soft comb raiser, mag with 5 bullets in, 3 spare bullets on the comb raiser and a sling.

Forgot to say, just zeroed the M12. Haven't got a chance to use it in the field yet. A very good gun in use except the weight to me.

Why not look at M18

Pain of a set up, wonder how tricky to cut threads?
I don’t know the receiver that well - if there’s enough meat yes. But the barrel has the locking lugs machined in it (not the receiver as is traditional) so the whole
thing is behind the majority of re-barrellers

I wouldn't want any rifle that couldn't be rebarrelled (like the Mauser M12). But that's just me,
it’s me too. But I reckon most people don’t care, we live in a throw-away society
