MDT Xrs/magazine problem

so my new xrs came today, and my new magazine, which is a 5 round AICS Bergara mag, put a couple of empty cases in to make sure it chambered, no where near, bolt goes over the top buy some distance,
mag seems all the way in, so unless im being thick, something is not right??

thanks,

Lee

I had the same problem with a Bergara 5 round AICS mag in .308, wouldn't lock home,
in a KRG X-Ray chassis now, but I've a 10rnd and 5rnd MDT AICS magazine and they both lock home and feed perfectly.

the 5 round mags were hard to find, MDT would of been my first choice, for once, all's well that ends well :D

I have been onto MDT for a long time asking them to make a 5 shot 223 mag.
I have the 10 shot polymer one and it feeds perfectly in my 204 and my mates 223 tikka action

Standard reply from riflemags: that info is there to see when you browse the different mags.
From memory, most of the polymer I removed was from surface B, and I used a headtorch to aid a visual inspection as well. I had to press for maybe 10 seconds or longer quite firmly to get a faint "cut" line to polish out, you should be able to see how far away from the catch is to getting engaged as well if you use a torch.
Just keep whittling away, it's quite pleasing when it all clicks into place :tiphat:
thanks for the extra push, i want going to bother, now very much glad i did 👍

Well my bergara mag came and I had a quick play with it this eve.
When I insert it the mag catch is not locking in.
It will actually feed the rounds but the catch won't engage no matter how hard I force it.
I won't get a chance to look at it properly until Sunday.

get the sand paper out, if its feeding it shouldn't take much, probably no need for the die grinder :D

if you look back at post 10, it was along the B line, it just made it thinner to slide in better, yours shouldn't take much i dont think, if i can do it, anyone can 👍

I took my mag and rifle up to a mate who is good at working with guns and he sorted the mag for me.
I didn't want to chance it myself incase I made a mess of it.
Working perfect now.
