Meindl boots

Thinking about getting a pair of Meindl Burma Pro MFS for general hill work, beagling, walking etc. Does anyone have any experience of this boot and what do you think? I prefer a lower boot which allows me to run a bit easier.
Thanks for comments.

My experience is all good - comfortable, supportative, great build quality. In my view the right level of sole stiffness for the kind of general use you describe.
Sole could prehaps be more grippy on wet rock, but don't have many alternative reference points so I might feel the same with other equivalent boots.

I have had a pair of these for quite a few years, done plenty of work inc. hill stalking and can't really fault them. I know highland keepers who say they last about 18 months continuous use; it's the heather that gets them in the end.

Last pair lasted 10 years.
The new pair i bought trained with me over Dartmoor and then on the main event on my recent trip to Montana, unbeatable in my opinion.

Great boots had mine for 4 years and wear them with pair of Black Islander gaitors for everything. Keep them clean and Nicwaxed and they will last for years.

I wear Meindl boots every day, walking on rough and usually wet ground. I think they are comfortable from day 1, they dont leak until they are holed or you go over the tops. I have tried other makes of boots over the years but all ways come back to Meindl's so much so that I wont even bother to look at any other make now.

same with me i have worn meindl boots daily for years ,Burma are good summer boots , but i olso have a pr of Meindl Island and i think they are better for a day on the hill if you are going on scree and broken rock more ankle support than the Burma and not as retrictive as there Dovre . to my mind Dovre ar the top boot though they can be hard on your knees when they are new till the start to bend around the ankle area . Meine gott i should get a free pr of boots from them for all of that.

You won't regret getting a pair of the Burmas; excellent boot. I have never worn mine out beagling as I prefer a pair of rugby boots or, if it is really wet, I get the wellies out. Nice to hear from another beagler out there!

Perfect beagling boots.... don't put too much shite on them or you'll lose the breathability of the gore-tex. Don't ever put dubbin on a goretex boot. Maybe too warm if you are active, in which case get a pair of Borneo's....same boot without the gore-tex...... same as any other leather boot they are waterproof....up to a point. Won't wear anything not made by Meindl. Best gaiters for the hill is a pair of Yetis.

I don't know why they stopped making the Elbus and Elbus pro mountain as a hill stalking boot and rough ground boot the were superb
