Meindl dovre extreme issues.

Morning all,

I recently purchased myself a pair of meindl dovre extreme and after 2 weeks the bulk of the rand had come unstuck and fallen off, not great!

I popped back into the shop and as soon as I set the box down on the counter the guy asked if the rand had fallen off.... So currently meindl are having an issue with the rand's falling off, they aren't doing a total recall because it's not affecting a certain batch, it's not affecting a certain shift that makes them, it's just random.

Meindl have put out a statement to all suppliers basically saying- yes we have an issue, replace any boots having this issue with a new pair. So if you are having the problem pop them back to your suppler and they should be replaced on the spot, hopefully this pair will last a bit longer. If not they will be replaced again until I get a good pair.

Just Incase someone is sitting at home feeling rather annoyed that their £300 boots are falling apart.

Agree with you there, while I was fencing I used the meindl airstream and they where great boots lasted 2 years of abuse, but got short of time so couldn't order anything and the local shop only had the meindl so I grabbed a pair, regretted it on day 2 🤣 la sportiva will be my next ones have had them in the past just didn't have time to wait for postage.

Wondered why we had seen a spike in demand for Lowa's over the last few weeks - thanks for posting details of the issue.

Nothing new: Meindl Quality Control

Won't be buying another pair, ever again!

Not new this has been an issue for a couple of years now.
 
Look at Hanwag’s full rand range (NOT the newer Tatra ll, which is a weekender’s plaything and has been slated), the more traditional boots have great comfort and support, as well as using very good leather. Hanwag Alaska GTX for a lower top boot is great (I’ve got 2 pairs of Meindl boots with which to compare them)

I had the same issue and tried contacting the supplier to no avail so gave contacted mendil direct, will not be buying them again. What model lowa would be equivalent to the drover extreme.
 
Hang wag Trapper top gtx r a great boot if a little warn out of winter. I have an old pair which I use as back up, replaced these with a brand esscosse pair, which are solid option too.
 
Hi Rob what is the difference between the lowa hunter gtx extreme and the lowa z 11s gtx c?
I see the hunter gtx extreme has got insulation in them what are they like in the hotter weather ie early season days? Pm if you would prefer.
