Another boot post šŸ™ˆ

I’m looking to buy a new pair of boots , I do mostly rough shooting on a mixture of terrains

I’m so undecided on what to buy -

Meindl dorve - have the sorted the glue / cracking rubber issue ? (Currently have these )

Bandecosse- can only order direct unable to try on? Heard they have a stiff sole

Hanwag tattoos- look a great boot

Crispi hunter- look a great boot also

Any thoughts On the above ?

Another vote for Hanwags.
Terra purchased this summer, comfy, waterproof and just the ticket for around £300.

I tried Trappers but thought the Terra was a touch more suitable for my foot volume/shape.

There's a stockist in Keswick, if you're on a weekend out in the Lakes.

Honestly you can’t beat trying them on… at Ā£250-350 it’s a considered purchase

I was all set for dedito boots but when I tried them on they felt too narrow under my gurt pasty feet

I went Meindl as the fit was so much better…

Dare I say it I think Meindls might be sorted now? I’m 11 months into a pair of Island Pro’s (worth a look as a much nicer boot than the douvre in my opinion!) absolutely love them to be honest, I often wear them at work if coppicing or fencing.

I wouldn’t bother with brandecosse, if you buy boots from Diemme direct (diemme make them) they are a much cheaper boot. Brandecosse do a great job at marketing and back up though.

Bridge is burned with Meindl.

NEVER AGAIN!!!

Crispi, area that flexes above ankle wore out after 1 year, so leaks now. Otherwise OK.

Trying Hanwag now

Hanwag vote from me, going strong on 6 years with mine and they’re as good as new. Also the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. Hated my meindls, but that’s just me.

I had to get a size down in hanwags from my usual size, so do try before buying!

As above, I ordered 2 pairs in different sizes and sent the other one back, expensive way of doing it but it worked for me.
Would never purchase Meindl boots again last pair only lasted a year and started to full apart!!
Hanwag will do the job, comfortable and long lasting IMO.

We’re u true to size or have to size down

Look nice and solid but for that price you’ve got to either try them on or have a no quibble arrangement whereby you may return for another size if they don’t fit:

My experience in dealing with Brandecosse is that they would have no issue with that at all, they are a genuinely nice bunch of folks in my experience.

Having posted a ā€œbootsā€ thread the other day - everything I read is pointing me towards Crispi, that’s based on people’s feedback, length or warranty, features and pricing.

I am a die hard Meindl man, 4 pairs including Dovre Extreme all the way down to Respond shoes, never had any quality issues. My shooting mate has been wearing the tall Brandecosse for 2 seasons he is very happy with them

If you buy these:
