Excellent condition Miroku side by side boxlock ejector, double triggers and auto safety. Has had very little use and is tight to open. Blueing on metal work is unmarked. Minor handling marks on wood. Original Miroku buttpad. Great little high quality Japanese side by side. Can be viewed in SW20 or tried at any of the Surrey based clay clubs.

Thanks, its a nice thing, I had one just like it some years ago, its worth getting opened up a bit.

I just bought one last month, sight unseen, and it a great gun. The bores on mine are stamped 0.719" by the Proof House, so a bit tighter than the usual 0.729". Therefore the chokes are more like 1/4 and 3/4. It will be my gun for standard steel once lead disappears. I may open up the left barrel though.

Stamped .719 and .729.
Metal and wood in exceptional condition.

I have the colour hardened action 500E ejector choked 1/4 and full stamped on the flats.I can see yours has the same chokes stamped on the flats of barrels.

There are plenty of good standard steel cartridges for use 2,1/2” and 2 3/4” (65mm and 70mm) chambered guns. Provided the gun has been proofed post 1954 and is in good condition then and recommended no more than 1/2 choke then these cartridges can be used.

There is really very little need for “high speed steel” that can be used in steel shot proofed guns. You pay a lot more money for a lot more recoil for not a lot of extra reach. If you are wildfowling on the foreshore or shooting very high phaesants with 8lb plus gun then perhaps. Otherwise don’t waste your money.

A miroku, such as the one advertised are strong, solid guns. Personally I would have it opened improved cylinder and 1/4 choke and shoot steel with it all day long. Steel doesn’t deform like lead shot so shoots denser pattern regardless of choke. Use of a shot cup wad (as used in all cartridges) further tightens the pattern.
