Missed!

My Fish & Chips!
First muntjac was about bang on time from what I have been seeing of late 5-6pm now to wait as being a doe the maybe a chance of the buck!
As time ticked by the thought of Cod & Chips grew stronger with my stomach starting growl, right 5 mins and off home no said the thermal!
It was going right through cover so I was at fast pace also to make an angle for a open spot it should break into in a short while, I got set up she came as predicted and all over. Collect her back to where the first one was hanging tag them on a drag rope and back to the truck (or so I thought)
I often recall the owners late fathers reply to me when I first met him my question was "what would you like done with the deer?" "Shoot as many as you can and don't be shy with the foxes"
There is a nice branch close to the truck to dress these out but as per usual I looked around with the spotter "Fox" working it's way up the fence line! Rifle out of slip load up look around "gone" not having that! leaving to get to the mobile chippy is out the window lol
20 mins later the fox had it's hedge ticket now I am hungry and yet to do the deer.
Guess it will be Fish and Chips tonight lol

Brilliant as always 👍

I would have opted for fish and chips rather then the fox...but Im just selfish

I decided on the easy option last night...shot a fox at 250 yards and decided that rather then walk the mile to actually get to it I would go home and get the farmer to collect it himself 👍:)

Had F&C's yesterday after pigeon shooting........ Years ago I started on a farm for a very nice family for foxes (now also get a few fallow)
I always call the next morning regardless of anything shot or not, one morning after nailing a very large dog fox I rang to check in explaining what was what. "Well done" where did you shoot it? In the neck! No! what part of the farm !! lol
He is very well known to all the farms which is good as I have cold called in to a few farms over the years got chatting and told that story as they know him...Always gets a laugh and a few "yes that is fine" answers

Tidy job. All farmer in an area know one another so much easier with the name dropping.

I had my first century on crows about 10 years ago after a quick "I shoot for next door and noticed a few crows" 👍 128 crows later and 400 acres to shoot on.
