Moderator Recommendation

I collect a Blaser in the next couple of weeks and looking for recommendations on moderators, it will be mostly used for woodland, I would like light weight first then good sound suppression calibre 30-06, I have F&D Mods on my other rifles and really like them but according to my dealer they wont have any until the end of April, if then, and I dont want to wait that long.

I have stuck an F&D F269 on the end of the new Blaser in 7x64. Very impressed with sound attenuation, weight and aesthetics.

As mentioned above give Ed a ring to check on availability.

Got MAE mods on all my Blasers and there superb. Lightweight? Not exactly but will perform longer than all others

Not too long ago put a DPT on a 22/250 and a Hardy compact Gen 6 on a .270 Pleased I went with the Hardy, looks good, lightweight, attenuation is good enough for me to be happy to use it without any protection from a 22" barrel and with only 80mm overhang, handling and balance is very good.

Advantage of the DPT, it's modular, but do not expect to wear the Hardy out for many many years. Then there's Lawrence Precision Titan and Neon. A bit heavier but beautifully made with 80mm overhang again and of course being fully Titanium, are totally bomb proof with no chance of wearing them out. I have the Titan on a 20" 6.5, again well balanced and happy to use without protection.

I like my S&L Superdomes. Light, effective, fully dismantle-able & with stainless steel inserts in the baffles to prevent wear.

I've got both DPT and F&D, both are very good. Aesthetically the F&D wins but if you can't wait till the end of April then the DPT's are really light and do a good job, for best sound attenuation get the magnum proofed over barrel version.

+1 for the MAE/PES stainless steel moderators. Bomb proof, and if not the lightest on the market, not the heaviest either. Got one on my 6.5Swede and consistently get compliments on its attenuation abilities on the range...

I have a F&D on my 6.5 and a H2 on my .308. Both great but I prefer the F&D.

Have a word with Ed he can sometimes supply one of his test mods until a new one arrives.

Ps. One good thing with the H2 is that you can drop a baffle section out and then it is very short....but you will of course lose some of the sound performance.
