DIY Leather Knife Sheaths
Not sure if these are any interest to folk? Hilariously my mate said he hated his plastic sheath thing that comes with the Mora knives and would I mind doing him a nice leather friction sheath for his scandi cutter. They are a bit of a faff but I have had some lovely chestnut veg tan (not...www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk
NiceI remember that. Still going strong I hope? That leather is really good quality with a firm handle, unlike the home dyed natural soft leather that most people use and then soak and mould. Ultra firm handled, thick and good quality tannery dyed full grain veg tan is the stuff you want.
I found some more of that leather recently in my boxes and made myself a sheath. Proper old school leather.

Yes mine’s perfect despite some hard use - thank youAnd some quite a bit less. I bought some for my knives.I use Mora's all the time for stalking but don't like the plastic sheaths ,always buy leather sheaths there are plenty on
e-bay and not expensive around £20 in some cases a little less, yes maybe double the price of the knife but the sheath
will outlast several knives.

Depends on what you are doing with them as a lot of my stalking was on the hill and involved a fair bit of crawling I lost aPersonally I like those Mora Plastic sheaths. I use an orange or pink one - both easy to see in the grass, and when grubby just put them along with knife in dishwasher.
A zippered pocket, surely?Depends on what you are doing with them as a lot of my stalking was on the hill and involved a fair bit of crawling I lost a
few knives when crawling through heather , a good tight dangler sheath in leather stopped that.
Though I do appreciate the point of being able to.wash the plastic sheath.
