More time for stalking!

Hi there,
Joined this forum a good number of years ago but didn't have the time to devote to stalking until recently after a career change.
Still operate a .243 with Schmidt & Bender 8x56.
Keen to change to copper but also considering a change of calibre. Current set up has never let me down though!
Need to get my DSC2 accredited stalk completed this year.
Have shot, roe, fallow and reds. Fancy a go at Sika!
Shot in Scotland and England and willing to travel for good sporting opportunities. Also travel to NZ on occasion for fantastic hunting there too.

Welcome from Sussex!
Please tell us more about New Zealand. I’ve been looking at that on you tube and it looks amazing. Incredible landscape. Is public land hunting possible for tourists??

I've had 2 hunting trips in NZ over the last couple of years. My wife and I hunt with a good friend James Gray, who stays just outside Christchurch and our hunting has been in the Hurunui area in the North Canterbury region. Totally amazing scenery and no shortage of sport. Deer, pigs, goats, birds or fishing. Hoping for a Chamoix or Tahr on the next trip.
Public land hunting is possible for tourists but better to find a decent guide and you don't need to break the bank. Far safer too, especially if you don't know the ground!
Happy to provide any tips or advice to anyone considering a trip there!
