Hi all,
I’m based on the Isle of Man and have been involved in shooting for over 20 years, mainly rough and driven game shooting. Over the past 18 months or so, I’ve increasingly turned my attention to deer stalking and have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and learning curve that comes with it. I try to get over to the UK as much as possible to take advantage of stalking opportunities.
At home, I use a .17 HMR for rabbit control, and my stalking rifle of choice is a 6.5 Creedmoor, which has served me well across a variety of ground and conditions. I’ve just completed my DSC1 and will be progressing to my DSC2 in due course, once I’ve added a few more stalks to the logbook. I also have plans to complete the boar course as part of broadening my experience.
I’ve got two well-established working spaniels, and I’m looking to venture into the world of deer dog work — with a Teckel likely on the cards when the time is right.
