Munty velvet

As per my other thread, shot this last night and it’s my best munty so far so would like to keep it, is there a method to “faking” the velvet or am I better off stripping everything and staining the tines afterwards for a clean look?
Thanks

Strip it, clean the antlers then you can add some potassium permanganate but you can’t replicate the rubbed off ‘shiny’ look you’d get from clean antlers. I had to do that with the top one in the photo. 9C7DDC19-C00A-4483-99B6-793189EFD992.webp

I’ve seen people do similar and then rub sticks against them if a scotchpad to make then wear down a bit
