I sat out last night as I knew a sounder was very active in our wood. At 23:40 they came out of the woods to my left 10-15 in all they trotted down to the other end of the field so were 130 metres away next to a crossing country road, it was a clean shot out of my kanzel window, I got into position Pard switched on & swept the sounder looking for the most suitable one to shoot, safety swithed off then my left eye sees lights wtf two cars are coming into the road which is almost never seen at night as it feeds only one village. Whoof the sounder was gone, I could not shoot anyway as the risk of the stampeding boars after the shot could have caused a crash. I had been sitting out for these all week.

Sat watching 68 Fallow for an hour, all they did was feed along the top of a banky field. All they had to do was drop down 20yds. Would they come down, would they f.... No other way to get at them as all angles would be risky. It was such a pretty sky behind them.🤬
If I had a quid for every time something like that’s happened… had a group of does pop out from the wood on the brow of a field the other evening, as they mooched about before heading off across the field still on the skyline - how do they know??

Years ago out with a stalker shooting stags and the only one we saw was skylines,
The stalker said to me shoot the F##king beast the only thing behind him is 200 square mls of nothing.
Bang flop.
Handy there was no exit.
Deep breath.
