Muslin sacks

Used to be available on a roll, which you just cut to length. I’ve momentarily forgotten the name of the stuff!
It's just called muslin tube, isn’t it? Or muslin stocking?
You can get huge rolls of the stuff. Probably enough to last the average user 20 years or more.
I had such a roll until relatively recently, about 3ft in diameter, but unfortunately it got damp and began to degrade, so I binned it. Otherwise I'd have gladly chopped off 50yds or so and sent it to the OP to keep him going.

Edit - Mutton cloth - cheaper on a roll. 👍🏻

Mutton cloth - beloved of old decorators so often available from paint shops in smaller lengths or cut per meter

Way cheaper than butcher suppliers
That's the stuff I was looking for. We used to call it mutton cloth. Long rolls and was for next to nothing, my grandma use it for everything. Childhood memories, thought I was going mad imagining I'd seen it:rolleyes:

Hi

May I suggest a roll of scaffolders debris netting, on a roll, plastic/nylon so easier to clean/sterilise to reuse....
Two hoops of BG yellow pipe and a connector (or flexible equivalent) to form a hoop inside, with a knot top n bottom keeps it away from the carcass.

I started there September 1966 aged 16 in the body experimental department as a styling modelmaker apprentice after my one year stint as probationary apprentice at Carbodies ltd on Holyhead Rd Coventry fell through me being a stroppy 15 y/o and them with finance troubles (they made the London taxis). Humber headlinings were made of west of England cloth that grey stuff but high quality they were up to Rover limousine level IMO.
