Interesting thread yes I guess there is no totally right or wrong way but as see in video posted by Tim243 you need to be very vigilant carrying muzzle up in company.

For me I carry muzzle up in open country muzzle down in woodland I hunt solo.

But in the event of a ND and it can happen to any of us safety is paramount threads like these bring that to the forefront of our thinking and that can only be a good thing.

As I am relatively new to the stalking scene I was wondering what your opinions are on carrying a rifle muzzle up or muzzle down? mainly woodland stalking atm just thinking about the quickest way to get the rifle on the sticks ready for the shot without to much movement etc.

Personal preference for me is up, mod in front of the shoulder. That way I know exactly where the muzzle is at all times. Lens cap on objective lens, rear remains dry and clean. Easy to flip into the firing position.
