I went on my first Roe Doe stalk a few weeks ago with Adrian Curnock of British Shooting Services. It started with a look around part of the area we would be shooting before daybreak with the thermal to see what deer were around and where. We set off at daybreak across some feilds and into a small orchard then into a big wood. We seen quite a few Roe doe none of which presented a safe shot either skyline/in bushes/ no backstop. We then went for a well deserved breakfast and a discusion of how the morning stalk had gone.
We then headed back out for the afternoon on open land where we spotted more Roe in the distance we stalked up to within range and Adrian set the sticks for me to shoot my first Roe Doe at 180 metres. A great end to the day. I Iearnt a lot in just one day with Adrians guidence and already booked another Stalk with him. Really looking forward to it.
